Tetra Tech International Development Europe pursues clear solutions to international development’s most complex challenges.
We are trusted by partners across the UK and European development community to design and implement complex multi-year programmes across governance and institutional strengthening, sustainable economic development and infrastructure. Our locally-driven approach to programming delivers national and regional progress, often in the world’s least developed countries. We are proud to be a Gold Supplier to the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
Our monitoring evaluation, research and learning team is one of the largest in Europe. We implement some of the largest independent evaluations in the UK international development sector, and work with a number of European institutions to evaluate a broad range of areas and disciplines.
Throughout our programmes we integrate expertise that prioritises climate and environment, gender and social inclusion and digital solutions. Each area has a dedicated team who ensure that all of our programmes support these vital global concerns, with a constant eye on the long-term sustainability and equality of our work. We are a trusted partner on technical assistance facilities and delivery frameworks for European and UK institutions, providing agile and responsive expertise.
Our European operations sit alongside a number of the company’s other operating units that deliver international development services. As the International Development Services division, we have more than 50 years of global development experience – for donor agencies of the USA, UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and a range of multilateral banks and agencies – working to empower local communities and leverage private investment to create a safer, more prosperous world for all.
Our growth in Europe
Our 40 years of long standing presence in the UK and Europe can be traced back to three firms that started in the 1980s and 90s: Enterplan, Libra and The Evaluation Practice. These firms were acquired by Australian environment and infrastructure firm, Coffey in late 2000s to become a provider of project management and evaluation services to the UK government, across the fields of governance and institutional strengthening and sustainable economic development.
Tetra Tech acquired Coffey in 2016, as a key asset in the global reach of its international development services division. In 2019 Tetra Tech acquired WYG, adding its international development expertise in infrastructure and institutional strengthening, as well its long-term relationships with European development institutions.
