We help our clients take credible climate action.

We view all of our projects through a climate lens, working with our clients to help them identify how they can take credible climate action through their projects, then facilitating that action using our extensive expertise.

Resilient development and green growth are prioritised throughout our work, navigating complex climate and development challenges across disciplines and interests. Our expertise covers areas including practical development of project pipelines, identification and facilitation of financing, and the building and reforming of market systems and institutions to more effectively respond to climate change.

Our solutions are drawn out of collaboration to apply globally. Our clients are bilateral and multilateral agencies, including development finance institutions.

What makes us different

We think and work politically

We work with local actors to help them shape their own solutions and help our clients to build support and momentum behind context-specific responses to climate change. We are particularly experienced at working in fragile and conflict-affected situations.

We adapt and respond to evidence of what works

Our implementation and evaluation teams work together to learn through the whole project lifecycle from design, through delivery to evaluation. We apply the latest evidence to our work, monitor performance in real-time and integrate evaluation and learning throughout.

We see climate change as part of the bigger picture

Our experience shows that climate is best addressed as part of wider development priorities. Through multidisciplinary teams, we deliver programmes that tackle issues in a holistic and outcome-focussed way.

We deliver results at scale

We have the experience and systems to deliver large-scale and complex programmes,
while maintaining the agility to capitalise on opportunities and ensure quality delivery.

Our climate change and nature services

Market systems for green growth

We use a market systems approach to understand the underlying causes of problems and identify how relationships, rules and supporting functions can change to harness market forces for more sustainable outcomes. This leads to lasting impact as interventions crowd-in other market actors.

Climate governance

We apply our depth of experience in governance and institutional reform to climate change – helping strengthen central and local government and improve public financial management. We work closely with governments, communities and non-governmental organisations to develop processes that increase resilience and promote transparency, accountability and citizen participation. We have particular experience in some of the world’s most complex and fragile environments.

Access to climate finance

We look across the investment cycle with the aim of connecting the right sources of finance with quality projects and programmes that support national priorities for the development of sustainable and resilient energy, water and urban infrastructure. We have a particular strength in the preparation of projects for financing by IFIs and have helped to prepare over €5bn of projects for financing.

Monitoring and evaluation systems

We generate robust and reliable insights that help our clients and partners to build the systems that lead to more effective outcomes. Through our collaborative global approach, we tap into national, regional and international networks to provide geographical coverage around the world. We work with stakeholders to develop bespoke solutions that deliver the right data and analyses, at the right time and for the right purpose – producing evidence that is insightful and actionable.
