The Africa Programmes Expertise Department (APEX) is the third largest spending department in FCDO’s Africa Divisions, operating programmes across numerous Africa countries at pan-African, regional or sub-regional levels through a diverse network of regional partners.
Since 2019, Tetra Tech has supported FCDO’s efforts by supplying third-party monitoring across its APEX portfolio of humanitarian, conflict, energy, climate change, trade and agricultural development programmes. We assisted the verification of programme monitoring in the Africa region by providing tailored support to the unique needs of the APEX programmes.
As the programme draws to a close, our team is reflecting on how our work has strengthened the department’s confidence in what its programmes are delivering and achieving, particularly in areas where FCDO staff are unable to monitor programme delivery or results directly.
