Increasing incomes and creating jobs for the poor in Northern Nigeria
LINKS - Catalysing economic growth in Northern Nigeria
The LINKS – Catalysing Economic Growth in Northern Nigeria programme is focusing on increasing incomes and creating jobs for the poor in Northern Nigeria. We won this seven-year, £67.5m DFID-funded programme in 2019 and are delivering it from a base in the Northern city of Kano.

LINKS aims to support the development of a vibrant and diversified economy in the three key northern Nigerian states of Kano, Kaduna and Jigawa. To achieve this we are focusing on promoting and facilitating investment an supporting private sector innovations that will increase competitiveness, productivity and transformational economic inclusivity. We’re focusing on value chains that are high-potential and pro-poor, aiming to make them productive, competitive and attractive to investors – and then encouraging that investment in them.

Our team will also work on addressing business environment challenges that limit investment or innovation, as well as robustly monitoring and evaluating all activities to assess and maintain their value.

To this project we are bringing the subject and regional expertise that we demonstrated on the GEMS4 economic growth programme.
